Side by Side Collective was founded by Rebecca Knight, a passionate advocate for individuals with special needs and the families who love them. With experience in church ministry leadership and special needs support, Rebecca understands both the heart of families and the operational needs of churches. Her calling is to help churches move from good intentions to confident, compassionate action.

Side by Side Collective is building a comprehensive support network for families and churches. While our church consulting services are launching first, future offerings will include respite care, family retreats, and additional faith-based support services. Our purpose remains the same: to walk alongside families and churches with faith, integrity, and care.

*1 in 5 people in the U.S. lives with a disability, meaning every church already serves individuals and families affected by special needs.

*1 in 6 children has a developmental, behavioral, or learning disability, impacting how families engage with church life.

*80–85% of churches do not have a dedicated special needs ministry, leaving many families without adequate support. While nearly all churches believe they are welcoming, only about 30% provide intentional accommodations or programming.

*Families affected by disability are more likely to leave a church or stop attending when support and inclusion are lacking.

*People with disabilities are considered one of the most under-reached groups in ministry, despite their significant presence in communities.
